This time, we modified Apple AirPort Extreme (Wi-Fi Router) so that it will work from Direct Current (DC) power so that you can now plug it into a battery or any other DC source like your car or RV.
Is the modification affects its functionality? The answer is NO! The port added at the back for DC power doesn’t affect any of its existing ports. All ports are still functional, you just get an additional port for DC or off-grid applications!
Is it really a useful additional feature? Absolutely YES!
In our prior article, we talked about how inverters are wasteful, well this will bypass the extra conversion, and save energy and power by running directly on DC power!
