Things I Take With Me When Traveling. (Powered Up All the Time)

Just a couple of weeks ago we went on a road trip vacation and visited Tallulah Gorge and Camp Rainey mountain. We were going to a remote location but I was still “working”, so guess what were the most important items that I spent too much time (well partially) packing? It was having an internet connection, and power (this one was easy). Here are the things that I brought with me on my recent trip.

My arsenal of tech gadgets included a MacBook Pro, Samsung phone, Samsung Tablet, iPhone12, and a Dell laptop.

Let’s tackle the Power Part first since that’s the easy part. 🙂

On the way there, I needed to keep my devices powered up, and if you know me by now, I despise using inverters (read why in our prior blog) (Ok, maybe despise is a little too strong a word to use), but most of my items were power by USB-C. What makes a perfect traveling companion while driving up to the mountains is our very own 87w USB-C Car adapter. It’s versatile enough to power all my devices while in the car. The USB-C port is itself power adjusting so that when I plug my USB-C Samsung phone into it, it knows the right voltage to charge which is 5vdc.

Next, I had to check my emails and surf the web while using my MacBook. Ah perfect!

Again, our very own 87w USB-C car adapter fits the bill nicely providing the correct voltage 20vdc to my MacBook Pro.

Did I mention it is high-powered, meaning it’s not a small little USB-C adapter that only works for cell phones and tablets?

What about the iPhone you ask? Since it is not USB-C, the standard USB-C port on our 87w USB-C adapter works just nicely as well, and might I mention at the same time powering my MacBook Pro.

One side note. Because I use our USB-C adapter a lot in my car, I have it hard wired to the power panel within my car so that I will not have to deal with additional plug in my cigarette port, and on top of that direct hardwire eliminates any potential jiggles that might eventually make the cigarette work itself loose and potentially overheat the power socket.

Finally, to wrap up my day I had another application that I had to use my Dell laptop for, so as simple as unplugging the MacBook, I plug in my Dell laptop and carried on my day working seamlessly with full power. USB-C saved my workday! I hope for those of you who travel, you find our High Powered USB-C adapter useful too!

In my next blog, I’ll cover something a bit off-topic, but being we are all traveling at some point in our lives, I’ll cover how I used all three major cellular carriers to ensure that I have internet coverage up in the mountains…

Take a look at these amazing views of Tallulah Gorge.

Until next time, Stay powered!
