🔧 How It Works

You send us your Apple Mac Mini M‑series (M1, M2, or M4) and we modify it to accept 12V DC input, while keeping the original 120–240V AC port active.

Note: This service is not available for Intel‑based Mac Minis.

Internal vs External 12V Regulation

• M1 and M2 Mac Mini

  • There is enough internal space, so we install a 12V regulator board inside the Mac Mini.
  • You get a clean, integrated DC input with internal power regulation.

• M4 Mac Mini

  • Due to its tighter internal design, there is not enough room for an internal 12V regulator.
  • For M4 models, we provide an external regulated cigarette-lighter adapter with built‑in power regulation.
  • The Mac Mini itself receives properly regulated power from this adapter.

⚙️ Power Input Options

• AC Input (standard)

  • 120–240V AC via the original Apple AC port (unchanged and fully functional).

• DC Input (modification)
  12V DC via a 5.5 x 2.5 mm jack, with configuration options depending on model and case routing:

Mac Mini M4 DC Jack Mounting Options

Because of the compact design, you can choose how the DC lead/jack is routed:

1. No‑Drill Option

   • DC lead exits through the bottom vents.
   • External jack remains outside the case.
   • No visible hole drilled into the chassis.

2. Drill Option

   • We install a side‑mounted DC jack.
   • Requires a small case modification (a hole drilled for the jack).

3. USB‑C Port Option

   • We create a cutout in the vents and integrate a USB‑C power input.
   • Best for light CPU loads only.
   • Not recommended for power‑hungry or sustained heavy workloads.

📦 What’s Included

1. Regulated DC board and power jack installation

   • M1 / M2: 12V regulator installed inside the Mac Mini.
   • M4: External regulated cigarette adapter supplied; internal space does not permit an onboard regulator.

2. Choice of output connector:

   • Cigarette Plug (free; must be selected at checkout)
     • Includes built‑in voltage regulation for M4 and other suitable setups.
   • D‑Tap or XLR cables (optional upgrades)
     • Do not have built‑in voltage regulation.
     • Intended for users who will provide their own regulated 12V source or have a compatible rig.

3. 🛠️ Your modified Mac Mini will be returned with:

   • Functional DC power input
   • Original AC port intact and working
   • Power button and all system functions fully operational

4. Full testing before return

   • Each unit is powered, checked, and verified before shipping back.

We’ll complete the modification and return your unit. Typical turnaround is 1–2 weeks, depending on parts availability and workload.
