🔌 Power Your Apple Mac Mini M‑Series from ANY 12V Power Source
Now supports M1, M2, and M4 models.
Enjoy extended off‑grid use with a Mikegyver‑converted Mac Mini M‑series, powered directly from a 12V DC source — no inverter or generator needed.
No inverter hum or extra noise you can't stand. Just clean, perfect energy so you can focus on your productivity.
Powering your Mac Mini directly from 12V DC uses significantly less energy than running it through an inverter. For example, the Mac Mini typically draws around 6–8 watts when idle and about 30–40 watts under typical load on 12V DC. In contrast, using an inverter adds 10–20% or more power loss due to inefficiency and noise.
As an added benefit, you’ll get longer run times from batteries, quieter operation, and more reliable power delivery — ideal for mobile setups like cars, RVs, vans, boats, or off-grid workstations.
The original AC power port remains fully functional, so you can still plug into the wall anytime.

🔧 How It Works
You send us your Apple Mac Mini M‑series (M1, M2, or M4) and we modify it to accept 12V DC input, while keeping the original 120–240V AC port active.
Internal vs External 12V Regulation
-
M1 and M2 Mac Mini
There is enough internal space, so we install a 12V regulator board inside the Mac Mini. You get a clean, integrated DC input with internal power regulation. -
M4 Mac Mini
Due to its tighter internal design, there is not enough room for an internal 12V regulator. For M4 models, we provide an external regulated cigarette-lighter adapter with built‑in power regulation. The Mac Mini itself receives properly regulated power from this adapter.
⚙️ Power Input Options
-
AC Input (standard)
120–240V AC via the original Apple AC port (unchanged and fully functional). -
DC Input (modification)
12V DC via a 5.5 x 2.5 mm jack, with configuration options depending on model and case routing:
Mac Mini M4 DC Jack Mounting Options
Because of the compact design, you can choose how the DC lead/jack is routed:
-
No‑Drill Option
- DC lead exits through the bottom vents.
- External jack remains outside the case.
- No visible hole drilled into the chassis.
- Fully reversible — we can remove the mod if needed.
-
Drill Option
- We install a side‑mounted DC jack.
- Requires a small case modification (a hole drilled for the jack).
- Not reversible.
-
USB‑C Port Option
- We create a cutout in the vents and integrate a USB‑C power input.
- Best for light CPU loads only.
- Not recommended for power‑hungry or sustained heavy workloads.
💬 If you have an M2 Pro or Intel CPU, please contact us before ordering so we can confirm compatibility and requirements.

🔊 Plain English:
We stand by our craftsmanship for a full year—if our mod fails, we will fix it. However, we cannot provide indefinite technical support. You have 45 days to test your device and ask us troubleshooting or setup questions. After that window, we only reply to active warranty claims regarding the failure of the modification itself.
You accept the risk that your Mac Mini could become a very expensive paperweight, regardless of the cause of failure. Apple will not cover a modified unit, and we cannot repair Apple’s proprietary hardware outside the scope of our own work.
Service Refusal Policy:
We reserve the right to refuse service to any customer who appears not to understand the nature of this modification, has not read this listing in its entirety, or lacks the basic understanding of technology and its associated risks. If you are not comfortable with these terms or the 45-day support limit, please do not purchase this service.
❓ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
