Why Windows Users Rent a Remote Mac

There are plenty of reasons you might need macOS without wanting to buy Apple hardware outright. Whether it's a one-time project, a recurring development need, or just wanting to test something on macOS — renting a remote Mac is the fastest and most affordable path.

📱
iOS & Mac App Development

Xcode only runs on macOS. Build, test, and submit iOS or Mac apps without buying a Mac.

🧪
Cross-Platform Testing

Test your web app, software, or product on Safari and macOS without maintaining a second machine.

🔧
macOS-Only Tools

Some design, audio, and development tools are macOS-exclusive. Get access without switching your main machine.

💰
Skip the Hardware Cost

A Mac Mini M4 starts at $599. Rent one for $67 bi-weekly and only pay for the time you actually need it.

🤖
Apple Silicon AI Workloads

Run local LLMs and AI tools optimized for Apple Silicon — from your Windows machine, no GPU upgrade needed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to buy any hardware?
No. You only need your existing Windows or Linux PC and an internet connection. We provide the Mac hardware — you just connect to it remotely.

What software do I install on my Windows PC?
Just RustDesk — a free, open-source remote desktop app. Download it from rustdesk.com, enter the credentials we email you, and you're connected.

Is this a real Mac or a virtual machine?
It's a real, physical Mac Mini — dedicated exclusively to you. Not a shared VM, not an emulator, not a container. Real Apple Silicon hardware hosted in Florida, USA.

Will Xcode work?
Yes. Xcode runs natively on your dedicated Mac Mini M4 or M5. You can build, test, and submit iOS and macOS apps just as you would on a local Mac.

How fast is the remote connection?
Performance depends on your local internet speed. For development, coding, and general macOS use, the connection is smooth on a standard broadband connection. We do not recommend remote Mac rental for latency-sensitive tasks like real-time audio production.

What if my Windows PC is turned off or I'm traveling?
Your Mac stays online 24/7. You can reconnect from any Windows, macOS, or Linux device — your work is always there waiting for you.

Can I log into iCloud?
Yes — for general use (iCloud Drive, Notes, Photos sync, etc.). However, you must not enable Find My Mac or Activation Lock, as these features can permanently lock us out of our own hardware. This restriction is enforced under our service agreement.

Is there a service agreement?
Yes. We send a service agreement before provisioning begins. It covers acceptable use, iCloud restrictions, restart policy, and billing terms.
